1930 Austin Seven Navigation
The Austin Seven, in similar fashion to the American built Ford Model T, helped put the British motoring public on wheels. It remained in production for 16 years with about a quarter million of all types sold. They were announced in the autumn of 1922 and were just 6 feet and 3-inches long with 40-inches wide. They weighed less than 800 pounds. Power was from a 747cc four-cylinder engine that offered nearly 11 horsepower. They were small, durable, versatile, and affordable.
The Swallow Sidecar Company was founded by William Walmsley and his business partner William Lyons. The company built motorcycle sidecars and coachbuilt bodies.
This Austin Seven wears coachwork by Swallow and is finished in two-tone black and Old English White. It was repainted some time ago. Inside, there is black upholstery which appears to be original.By Daniel Vaughan | Dec 2017
