1919 Studebaker Light Six Model EH Tourer

  • Chassis Number: 235390
  • Engine Number: 61990
The Studebaker marque was established as a buggy company before the Civil War and entered into the automobile business in 1904, building bodies for chassis supplied by Garford of Elyria, Ohio. Just prior to the onset of World War I, the company began building its own cars in South Bend, Indiana and would continue for the next fifty-one years. In 1964, the company moved to Canada.

After World War I, the company introduced the Light Six, later to be called the Special Six. Body styles include a roadster, sedan, coupe, club roadster, and a tourer. Power was from an L-head engine displacing 288.6 cubic inches and mated to a three-speed selective sliding transmission.

This example is finished in tan with black fenders and rides on wooden artillery wheels. It is accessorized with nickel double-bar bumpers, a MotoMeter, and double rear-mounted spares. The interior is upholstered in vinyl, and there is a solid wood steering wheel.
