1963 Alpine M63 Navigation
Chassis number 1701 was the first M63 built. Upon completion, it was used as a testing vehicle to prepare for LeMans. It was then raced in the 1.3-liter class at the Nürburgring where it placed 11th overall.
When it raced at LeMans, it was sidelined early in the race due to a clutch failure. A replacement clutch was installed, but it failed in the eighth hour.
The next outing for 1701 was at Reims in June, followed by the 1964 Sebring 12 Hours.By Daniel Vaughan | Mar 2018
