Sold for $150,000 at 2020 RM Sothebys : Amelia Island Auction.
This 'Daul Cowl' phaeton body, custom-designed by Ray Dietrich, resides on the longest Packard frame for this year and the wheelbase is 145 inches.

The 1929 Auto Salon was in December of 1928 and Packard revealed seventeen custom designed bodies in their catalog with only one illustrated in black. The bright colors confirmed the strong economy. No one knew the financial fate looming around the corner.

The Hotel Drake, in Chicago, was the site for the chauffeur and affluent to view and contract with Packard for their next status symbol. Options like chrome spoked wheels, side-mounted tires, whitewall tires, and radiator mascots embellished these already custom coachworks. The cloisonné enameled radiator emblems were now to be standard on these opulent motor vehicles.

The 384.6 cubic-inch engine has a bore and stroke of 3 1/2' by 5' and produces 106 brake horsepower; enough to travel in style and at as much speed as the road would allow.

A grand car for a grand lifestyle, both of which were altered on October 29, 1929, which would be known as 'Black Friday!'

This Sixth Series Packard Deluxe Eight retains its original engine, chassis, and coachwork. The current owner acquired it in Texas, where it had formerly been owned by Packard collector Cal C. Banker of Shavano Park, who had acquired it from an estate in Burbank, California. It was given a restoration that was completed by Adams Custom Engines of Sparks, Nevada, and received Senior Premier honors in Classic Car Club of America judging in 2002, with a score of 99.75 points. In 2018 it was shown at the Amelia Island Concours where it received an Amelia Award in the American Classic Pre-1930 class; a Palmetto Award in its class at Hilton Head; Best in Class at Lake Mirror; and Chairman's Choice at Ault Park.

Accessories on this car include chrome wire wheels, dual side-mounted spares, a radiator stone guard, the classic 'Daphne at the Well' radiator mascot, and steerable Pilot Ray driving lights. There is a trunk with three suitcases and a set of side curtains.
