The 0776 (VIN #) was the second of three Fantuzzi-designed Spyders, the sole 196S Dino produced and the first Ferrari sports car to receive the V6 engine. Essentially this new V6 resembled half of a V12 at a 2.0-liter capacity producing 195 bhp.
This right hand drive version was sold to and campaigned by Luigi Chinetti's NART (North American Racing Team) and the other two versions appeared as 246S factory 'works' race cars. This 196S Dino was raced by the Rodriguez brothers, Pedro and Ricardo, ages 17 and 19, at Sebring and the Targa Florio.
These three cars used a chassis similar to the Testa Rossa and were distinguishable by the six carburator intake trumpets instead of the familiar twelve.
