1936 Peugeot 402 Navigation
The Peugeot 402 was produced in Sochaux, France from 1935 to 1942. The design featured the 'typically Peugeot' front end, with headlights positioned well set back behind the grille. Its overall design was streamlined and aerodynamic, and Peugeot was among the first volume manufacturers to apply streamlined to its production line. The single chassis size of the 402 could be clothed with a variety of body styles, by one estimate, sixteen different body types, including the celebrated Eclipse. While offering a hard top for strength and insulation, the Éclipse could turn itself into a convertible with ease.
This particular example is a 2-door, 6 seater coach designed by Georges Paulin. It was delivered new in France on August 7th of 1938. It currently wears an older restoration and finished in light green paint with green trim lines. The upholstery has been redone in cloth.By Daniel Vaughan | Apr 2018
