1973 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Coupe

Ferrari introduced the 365 GTB/4 at the 1968 Paris Salon as a replacement for the 275 GTB/4. It wore a design by Leonardi Fioravanti at Pininfarina, and quickly received the nickname Daytona in honor of Ferrari's 1-2-3 sweep of the 24 Hours of Daytona in 1967. Power was from an all-new 4.4-liter V12 engine that produced 352 horsepower and 315 foot-pounds of torque at 7,500 RPM. It had a top speed of 174 mph, could go from zero-to-sixty mph in 5.4 seconds, and was three mph faster than the Miura P400, making it the world's fastest production car at its introduction. Production off the Daytona continued through 1973 with 1,284 examples produced in total, making it one of the most successful models the Maranello factory had ever produced.

This 1973 Ferrari 356 GTB/4 with serial number 16109 won a Ferrari Concours Platinum Award in 1998. In the 1990s it was given a professional nut-and-bolt restoration and currently has 48,834 miles since new (and approximately 8,000 miles since the restoration). It is powered by the original 4,390cc DOHC V-12 engine with Six Weber carburetors and mated to a five-speed gearbox. It has Borrani chrome wire wheels, power windows, and power 4-wheel disc brakes.

This Ferrari was completed by the factory on July 12th of 1972 and was a factory prototype for the 1973 North American version, thus its early production date in 1972. Upon completion, the car was sent to the official Ferrari dealer Yonge Steeles Motors in Thornhill, Ontario, Canada, in September 1972. The car was finished in Giallo Fly over Nero leather and featured optional extras such as air-conditioning and power windows.

Michael Butler acquired the Daytona in 1993 and had the car restored by Maranello Motors (now Ferrari of Ontario) in Toronto.
