2015 Ferrari 458 Speciale Navigation
The Ferrari 458 Speciale was the company's fastest, naturally aspirated V-8 powered model of all time. It was a car that was equally at home on public roads or the race tracks. They were introduced towards the end of the production run of the company's mid-engined 458. Some of the modifications were co-developed alongside the LaFerrari supercar. One key component was the side-slip control (SSC) which calculated the car's slip angle and made near-instantaneous adjustments to match the driver's inputs. The system worked in tandem with Ferrari's electronically controlled rear differential (E-Diff) and traction control (F1-Trac).
Powering the Speciale was a 4.5-liter V8 engine offering nearly 600 horsepower, along with 398 foot-pounds of torque. This was a 35 horsepower improvement over the standard 458. This increase was due to its 14.0:1 compression ratio, carbon-fiber airbox and manifold, and new pistons and updated combustion chambers.
Along with the boost in power, the Speciale is 200 lbs. lighter than the standard 458 model.
Zero-to-sixty mph was achieved in 3.0 seconds and had a top speed of 202 mph.
This particular example is a one-owner example. It wears a special-order color scheme of Blu Pozzi with blue-and-white livery. It has Grey Silverstone brake calipers and traditional Scuderia Ferrari fender shields. There are optional carbon fiber racing seats, trimmed in Alcantara Cuoio with blue inserts and white top stitching. There is a large yellow tachometer that goes up to 10,000 RPM. Options include Ferrari telemetry, radio-navigation system, integrated audio system, as well as a fire extinguisher. The car's carbon-fiber rear diffuser, a $10,000 option, helps the car stick to the pavement around tight corners.
This car has a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and carbon-fiber shift paddles. The car has just 620 miles on its odometer.By Daniel Vaughan | Apr 2018
