1964 Volkswagen Microbus 21-Window Deluxe Wagon

The Volkswagen Type 2, introduced in 1950, was the second model offered by the German automaker after the original Type 1 'Beetle.' The Type 2 quickly established itself as one of the most popular and versatile commercial vehicle ever produced. It shared the same reliable running gear used on the Beetle and its unitary construction bodywork was supported by a ladder frame ideally suited for load carrying. Initially, the Type 2 was sold as a van, bus or pickup. As the years progressed, there were a vast array of off-shots, including ambulances, and campers, along with other derivatives offered over the years.

This particular 1964 Volkswagen Deluxe '21-Window' example has been given a total, nut-and-bolt restoration. It has period-correct trim, 'ice pick' door handles, and a more powerful 2,007cc four-cylinder engine which has been custom designed to look like the original motor. There is a rebuilt four-speed manual transmission with upgraded gearing.

Inside, there is a 'barn door' steering wheel, authentic gauges, and the original dash-mounted clock.

The restoration work was completed in June of 2016.
