2016 Porsche Cayman GT4 Coupe

Walter Rohl drove a Cayman around Germany's Nürburgring in 8 minutes, 11 seconds.

For 2012, the Cayman and Boxster were revamped with a new platform, additional power, and an available reworked seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

In 2015, Porsche introduced the Cayman GT4. Power was from a 3.8-liter flat-six sourced from the 911 Carrera S. It was equipped with upgraded brakes from the 911 GT3, enhanced aerodynamics, a lowered suspension, and a beefier chassis. Inside was a roll cage, a Recaro racing seat with a six-point harness, and a fire extinguisher.

The GT4 Clubsport made its debut at the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show in racing livery. It had a version of Porsche's PDK dual-clutch gearbox, a mechanically locking rear differential, adjustable ABS brakes, 911 GT3 Cup-supplied suspension components, a full, welded-in cage, and Schroth six-point racing harnesses.

This particular example has just delivery mileage on its odometer, currently showing less than 40 kilometers. The current caretaker acquired it in April of 2016. It is finished in white and has the adjustable rear spoiler, hood pins for the front trunk, and a basic interior which helped keep weight down to about 2,870 lbs. It was optioned from the factory with air conditioning, a boon for stints between the paddock and the track, the air jack system, and a Recaro racing seat from the 991 GT3 Cup.

The car also has a 'Spare Parts Package' which includes two sets of front and rear brake rotors, several sets of brake pads, as well as a set of extra wheels.
