The Ferrari 599 GTB was introduced at the 2006 Geneva Auto Show and served as a replacement for the 575M by Frank Stephenson under the direction of Pininfarina's director Ken Okuyama. Aerodynamic features included the flying buttresses at the C-pillars allowing for maximum airflow and increased downforce at the rear of the car. Zero-to-sixty mph was achieved in 3.2 seconds and the quarter-mile in 11 seconds.
This particular example is one of just 20 North American 599 GTBs originally built with the six-speed manual transaxle, among a total of 30 worldwide. It was delivered to Porsche of Plano, Texas finished in black over black. It was later owned by C.J. Wilson, a pitcher for the Texas Rangers and Los Angeles Angels.
The current caretaker acquired this Ferrari in 2013; at the time it had 9,784 miles on the odometer. By September of 2014, the odometer showed 10,430 miles.By Daniel Vaughan | Apr 2018
