1989 Dodge Viper Concept Navigation
To validate the chassis design concept, a 'mule' test vehicle was hand built by the Viper Team with the 4 inches of width addition and wheelbase revisions to match the handling requirements. The frame was stiffened to reduce chassis compliance. An enhanced Dodge V8 was used for the powertrain. The only difficulty was the Team reproduced the Viper appearance so well that some people thought the job was done.
