1935 Chrysler Airstream C-6 Convertible Victoria

Chrysler introduced its revolutionary Airflow models in 1934. It became apparent all too quickly that the public did not accept the new models. A case of too much, too soon. Chrysler responded with its conventional Airstream model, the 93-horsepower six-cylinder C-6 model that accounted for more than 50% of total production. According to records, 476 Series C-6 chassis cowl units were sold, including this unique example offered at $870 before options.

The Carlton Carriage Co. was an English Coachbuilder based in Willesden, North London, beginning in 1925. Originally formed as E.B. Hall & Co., the company moved from making horse-drawn carriages to custom car bodies largely commissioned directly by customers on chassis supplied by various manufacturers. Coachbuilders sometimes favored shorter wheelbase models when designing a car with more sporting intentions, and this one-off version is a perfect example.
