1965 Citroen DS19 Navigation
Henri Chapron began creating special coachwork on the DS 19 platform in 1958. The cars were not mechanically different from the factory-built Citroens, but they were aesthetically enhanced.
This DS 19 Majesty is one of 27 built. Although the body is similar to Chapron's Concorde, the Majesty provided increased headroom for the rear passengers and greater interior space to satisfy the few customers who considered the upmarket DS Prestige insufficiently exclusive. This Majesty was ordered by Rene Gaston-Dreyfus with several exclusive features, including metallic paint, shortened front doors hinged at the front and extended rear doors hinged at the back, modified rear wheel arches, an electrically operated privacy panel, power windows in the rear doors, front fog lights, an expensive Becker Mexico radio with power antenna, and English leather throughout the interior. This Majesty received an extensive restoration in 2009 before it was purchased by Peter Mullin in 2015.
