1960 AC Greyhound Coupe

Auto Carriers began life as a builder of little three-wheeled commercial vehicles prior to the First World War. The factory was located in Thames Ditton, outside London in Surrey. AC introduced its first car in 1919. The Greyhound is essentially an AC Aceca with four seats (as compared to two). Only 83 units were produced of this British car which features Italian styling and GT capability. Most Greyhounds were fitted with 145 horsepower 2.2-liter 6-cylinder Bristol engines, like this example; though some were fitted with AC and 2.6-liter Ford engines. This example is painted Dragonfly Blue over a green interior, and the restoration was completed in April 2016.

The AC Greyhound Coupe combined GT capability with Italian styling. This is the first car sold and was originally delivered through Ken Rudd to an English owner. It has traveled just over 36,000 miles. It remained in the United Kingdom until the mid-1970s when its new owner in Southern California began a restoration, placing the car in storage in the early 1980s. After remaining in storage for more than three decades, the current caretakers acquired the car in April 2013. A restoration followed.
