1960 Morgan Plus Four Roadster

The Morgan body shape may be traditional but underneath it, the frame is not. It uses ash (wood) in the construction and the car's sliding pillar front suspension adds to its unique approach. Not surprising then that at a curb weight of 1848 lb, its Triumph TR3 motor with about 100 horsepower makes it a sterling performer. A 1958 model was tested at a top speed of 100.3 mph and a zero to 60 mph time of 9.7 seconds. Given its relative simplicity and lightweight, the Morgan has been relatively prolific on America's race tracks and, today, on sports car tours. This Plus 4 has a 4-seater cockpit, one of two options on this chassis, a frame that is four inches longer than the earlier two-seat 4/4 model. It has been repainted once in its 17,000-mile life span.
