1956 Cadillac Custom Viewmaster Navigation
Cadillac station wagons are very rare. In 1956 Cadillac commissioned Hess & Eisenhardt to build them a few Viewmasters complete with the wraparound rear window. There was another model with a three-piece rear window, that's the Broadmoor (sometimes known as the Skyview). In 1956 only seven were built, each one in a different color and all had wood grain except for the first one. Most had three rows of seats but some had only two.
Boxer Joe Louis and Earl Gamble of Proctor and Gamble owned this model when current. Hess & Eisenhardt's start is complicated for it 'came out of' Sayers & Scovill, an established builder of coaches located in Cincinnati, Ohio.
H&E were professional car builders who specialized in armored cars often working with Cadillac platforms.
