This Jaguar Series I E-Type was completed on April 13th of 1967. It came equipped with the 4.2-liter XK inline-six and fully synchronized transmission. It is a left-hand drive, open two-seater that was finished in maroon over a black leather interior with a black convertible top. It was given the next generation of headlight treatment, also referred to as the Series 1¼ cars. On May 2nd of 1967, the car began its voyage to the United States to be united with its first owner, a Mr. Everett Kendrick of Sault Ste. Marie, MI.
It is believed that this E-Type Roadster was relocated to the Carolinas shortly thereafter. It would remain in singular ownership for decades, prior to being stored away. Currently, the car shows less than 39,000 miles on the odometer. In 2016, it was restored by Charleston, South Carolina-based restorers, Amazing Grace Classic Cars. It was finished in the factory-correct Opalescent Maroon paint, and work included a rebuild of the original engine, transmission, suspension and braking systems, and the installment of a new wiring harness. The interior was reupholstered in as-delivered black leather, and a new black soft top was fitted.
