1969 Nissan R382 Navigation
Nissan's involvement in motorsports provided an opportunity for engineers to test new technologies while drawing attention to the performance and durability of their production vehicles. Studying the creations of the North American Can-Am series, Nissan incorporated key elements into its new racecars built to compete in the Japanese Grand Prix, where the R382 took first and second in 1969. Built for that race, the R382 was constructed from the ground up and powered by Nissan's first V-12 engine.
