1956 Lancia Appia Furgoncino

1956 Lancia Appia Navigation
The Lancia Appia was introduced in 1953, remained in production for a decade, and served as a replacement for the Ardea. Power was from an overhead-valve, 1090cc V-4 engine with a light alloy head and a four-speed column-mounted manual transmission. It rested on a 97.6-inch wheelbase (which later increased to 98.8 inches), and the doors, trunk, hood, and rear fenders were made of aluminum. In the front were coil springs, and in the back was a rigid axle with semi-elliptical springs. Drum brakes were located at all four corners. Several conjurations were available, ranging from the family sedan to coach-built coupes and convertibles to the Furgoncino, or small van. The Furgoncino were used for delivering wine, food, clothing, and flowers, and some were even used as ambulances. Approximately 2,900 Appia Furgoncinos were produced between 1954 and 1959.

This particular example is finished in two-tone gray-green. It has chrome rings and hubcaps on the wheels, stainless and aluminum trim, and a 1090 4-cylinder engine. The interior is swathed in rubber, vinyl and plastic.
