1985 Buick Riviera T Type Convertible

1985 marked the end of another generation of Buick's Riviera nameplate, which had been the company's personal-luxury line since its 1963 introduction. The 1979 model change-over began the sixth generation, which ushered in a departure from the past rear-wheel-drive setup in exchange for front-wheel drive. During this final year, Buick built 49 examples of the T-Type turbocharger-optioned convertible. This particular example has been given a restoration and is fitted with the 3.8-liter turbocharged V6 engine, rated at 200 horsepower. It is fitted with computer-controlled coil ignition and sequential fuel injection. White and red were the only two paint colors offered; this particular example is finished in white with a maroon leather interior. It has air conditioning, bucket seats with a center console, and power windows, locks, mirrors and seats. There is a tilt column, cruise control, power steering, and power brakes. An AM/FM cassette stereo resides in the dash. It has full-size wire wheel covers and whitewall tires.
