Citroen introduced the DS19 at the 1955 Paris Salon. It had a streamlined body designed by André Lefèbvre, designer of the Voisin Laboratoire, and Flaminio Bertoni. They were given power steering, power brakes, and a Hydropneumatic self-levelling suspension. Front-wheel drive allowed for a roomy interior and the suspension provided a comfortable ride.
This particular example was bought new on April 29th of 1957, by Jean Roussillat of France. The second caretaker repainted the car, and repaired the headliner and fabric. The current owner acquired the car in 2013. Currently the car has less than 45,000 km.
The engine is a 1,911cc overhead valve inline four-cylinder engine fitted with a 2-barrel Weber carburetor and delivers 75 horsepower. There is a four-speed manual gearbox, the Hydropneumatic Self-Leveling Suspension, front disc, and rear drum brakes.By Daniel Vaughan | Nov 2018
