2014 Porsche 991 GT America Coupe

Porsche vehicles have a remarkable competition history in the United States. One of the first two Porsche 911 vehicles sent to the U.S. won its class on its first outing - the 1965 24 Hours of Daytona.

Porsche has stayed true to the racing heritage and is one of the few manufacturers that sell turn-key race cars to privateer teams. In 1998, Porsche offered the GT3 Cup which was eligible to compete in various racing series worldwide. In 2013, Porsche introduced the 991 GT America for use in the GT Daytona class of the US Car Racing Series. Based on the 991 GTS Cup car, they received modifications to compete in endurance races, including quick-fill couplings on the fuel tank and oil filler, brake calipers designed for quick removal, and a new four-liter engine offering 470 horsepower.

This particular example was purchased new by its current owner to join the WeatherTech Racing Team for the 2014 USCR GT Daytona Series. It was used as a practice and backup car.
