Porsche built 35 examples of the RSR for 2007. It example was sold new to Belgian team Prospeed Competition, led by Rudi Penders. It was campaigned in 2007 by Prospeed and driven by Penders and Franz Lamot at the 24 Hours of Monza, where it finished 8th in the GT2 class. Penders, Lamot, and Bart Couwberghs then finished 3rd in the GT2 class at the FIA GT Test at Spa-Francorchamps. It later raced at the 24 Hours of Spa but failed to finish. At the 1000 Kilometers of Spa, it finished 9th in the GT2 class. At the 2 Hours of Zolder, it was driven by Marc Basseng and Marc Lieb to an 8th in the GT2 class.
After the car's competition career came to an end, the RSR was sold to a Florida-based individual, who later sold it to its current caretaker. The car is powered by a 3,795cc dual overhead cam flat 6-cylinder engine fitted with sequential multi-point fuel injection and offers 485 horsepower. There is a six-speed sequential manual gearbox and four-wheel ventilated disc brakes.By Daniel Vaughan | Nov 2018
