1929 Packard 626 Eight Boattail Speedster

This Speedster is a faithful recreation of a Packard factory test racer. Its all-steel body rests on a Packard 6-26 Standard Eight chassis. The engine and three-speed transmission come from a Packard Super Eight. An original Packard driveshaft was shortened to accommodate the longer gearbox.

The inline eight-cylinder 384.8 cubic-inch powerplant has been bored .060 over and its head has been decked .020. It features Arias forged aluminum racing pistons and an 'Isky' cam. Casino Red leather adorns its interior and the paint is period-correct gloss black nitrocellulose lacquer.
