1956 Austin-Healey 100-4 BN2 Le Mans Roadster

The 100 M 'Le Mans' versions added upgraded carburetors, a low-restriction intake manifold, and a modified distributor. The 2.6-liter four-cylinder engine produced 20 additional horsepower over the standard 100-4. The 100M had a louvered hood, silver-painted wire wheels, and a cut-down windshield that could be folded flat, amongst other details.


This Austin-Healey began life as a 100-4 BN2 and later upgraded to 100M specification. It was a North American Export model produced in LHD and built on April 10th of 1956, equipped with a heater and laminated windscreen. The car was delivered new to the United States but its original owner is not known. By 1973 it was in the care of David White of Alameda, California. The car was acquired by the most recent previous owner in 1991, who had it converted to LeMans specification. It was refinished in the 100M color scheme of two-tone red over black, an M-style bonnet was fitted, and the interior was retrimmed in its original color of red leather.

After the restoration, the car was shown on three occasions, winning awards at each show. It won Best of Show honors in 2004 at California Healey Week. Two years later, it was shown at California Healey Week yet again as well as the 17th Annual British Car Show, where it was presented with 1st in class at both events.

The current owners acquired the car in 2012.
