1956 Austin-Healey 100-4 BN2 Sport Roadster

Donald Healey introduced his Hundred roadster prototype in 1952 at the Earls Court Motor Show. It was a sports car that used Austin A90 Atlantic componentry. The car attracted Sir Leonard Lord and a deal was struck at Austin's Longbridge assembly plant using Jensen Motors-supplied bodies. The venture was named the Austin-Healey and the model designation was simply the 100. The early Austin-Healey 100s were powered by a 90 horsepower inline four-cylinder engine from the A90 with a three-speed manual gearbox with overdrive. In total, over 10,000 examples were built.

In 1953, the Austin-Healey 100 was named International Car of the Year at the New York Auto Show.

The Austin-Healey 100 BN2 was introduced in the late summer of 1955. It had larger front wheel arches, a revised rear axle ratio, a four-speed manual with overdrive, and many were given a two-tone paint scheme.

This Austin-Healey 100-4 BN2 left the factory finished in Reno Red with a red interior and a black top. More recently, the car was given a restoration by BRC in Philadelphia and given its black over green AutoMat leather upholstery with black piping. It has its original engine that has been driven 500 miles since the restoration was done.
