1931 Auburn Model 8-98A Navigation
This Auburn Speedster was acquired from the estate of well-known Minnesota collector Kermit Wilson in 2014. The Custom line 'A' distinguishes it from the Standard line (8-95), as the company wanted to put emphasis on performance.
The 268.6 cu. in. 8-cylinder inline L-head engine produced 98-bhp, coupled to a three-speed manual transmission and running four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes.
This 8-98A Speedster was the recipient of a full restoration which was completed in 2017. Fittingly, following restoration, it was first entered in the 2018 Auburn Cord Duesenberg 'Year Of The Speedster' reunion at Auburn, Indiana, where it garnered the Roy Falkner Best Auburn Award. Previous history of this vehicle includes ownership by Eric Rosenau (Mr. Pierce Arrow) and a North Dakota Car Museum.
