1954 Rometsch Beeskow Sedan

    1954 Rometsch Beeskow Navigation
This was the 76th car produced in 1954, the year the Beeskow first won the Golden Rose Award at the International Geneva Motor Show. Built in Berlin in the spring of 1954 it was sold to Engelska Herr & Damskredderiet (British Men's and Women's Tailoring) of Malmo Sweden. The next owner stumbled across the car in 1968 and he kept it until 1972 when he retired the car and it sat in his garage untouched for years. In the early 1980s, he disassembled the car and placed the parts on pallets on the garage floor. It was discovered in Sweden in 2017 still on pallets. The car has been recommissioned and preserved unrestored with the original cosmetics, engine, transmission, and interior. The headliner and carpets were the only pieces replaced because they were stored on the concrete floor and rendered unusable. The period-correct Judson supercharger has been fully restored. It was thought there were only five surviving coupes. This surprising find is one of only two surviving series-2 cars and proves there are now six surviving coupes. It is the only preservation class example known today.
