1911 Rolls-Royce 40/50 HP Silver Ghost Tourer

This Silver Ghost has a six-cylinder, 7224cc, side valves, 38 horsepower at 1,000 RPM engine with a three-speed manual gearbox. Crafted in precisely the same style as an original Alford and Alder tourer, this Ghost has all bright work in brass, including correct Lucas Duplex headlamps, bulb horn, double Elliott speedometer and red striping accentuates the coachwork. It rides on straight side demountable wheels and is equipped with a tilting windscreen, a full set of spring gaiters and a complete set of engine pans.

This car was found in Australia and brought to the United States in 1968 and was carrying a late Australian-built body. It passed through the hands of the late Rick Carroll, who commissioned Graber and Sons to replicate the Alford and Alder Roi des Belges 7-passenger tourer on the car today. A thorough chassis restoration was completed by a Silver Ghost expert, the late Frank Cooke of Massachusetts. Since restoration the car has covered over 25,000 miles and continues to perform like new. Current owners acquired the car in the summer of 2011 from his parents after having toured the car for the last 15 years.
