Packard introduced the Model 30 in 1906 and continued through 1912. The T-head engine was built using French engine castings and developed 40 ALAM hp.
This particular Seven-Passenger Touring was originally owned by William Hunter. Mr. Hunter was a faithful Packard client, having acquired a 1905 Model N and two Model 30s (including this example and a 1909 model), all brand new. He would own them until his death in 1933. His widow sold the trio of cars four years later to Hyde Ballard. Mr. Ballard sold the car in 1950 to Tom Lester, who passed it on to Richard Teague in 1955. In 1955 it was sold to L. Morgan Yost. In 1980, ownership changed to Bob Erausquin who restored it back to its original configuration. Mr. Erausquin had acquired an original Model 30 Touring body section from Ronald Hall in New York. This was used during the restoration.
Mr. Erausquin sold the Packard to Don C. Boulton around 1987, and it has remained in his care ever since.
This Packard is finished in Packard blue with cream accents, black fenders, and tufted black leather upholstery. There are correct Packard-badged Solar brass lamps, original 1910 Packard instruction manuals, a three-speed manual transmission, and rear-wheel drum brakes. It has been given an electric starter for ease of operation.By Daniel Vaughan | May 2019
