1936 Packard Model 1404 Super Eight Navigation
This 1936 Packard Super Eight phaeton is completely unrestored, except for its top. It was delivered on June 30th of 1936 from Hitchcock Motors in Santa Barbara, California. Anna W. Dickinson of Santa Barbara, originally from Chicago, was the car's first owner. The car remained with Mrs. Dickinson until her death in 1972. During that time, she was chauffeur-driven. Upon her death, the car was shipped to her son, William R. Dickinson, in Lake Forest, Illinois, and remained with him until 1981. It would pass through two more collections until being acquired by the current owners in 2004.
This original Packard has the Packard-Hartford Tonneau windshield installed by Hitchcock Motors in 1936. It has a leather interior, floor mats, a spare tool roll, side curtains with rods, a trunk, and monogrammed Packard lap robes.
The car has a lubrication sticker from a Shell service station in Santa Barbara, dated 10-9-67, which shows 44,017 miles. Currently, the car has 46,700 miles on the odometer.
