1909 Delaunay Belleville Type IA6 Navigation
This Delaunay-Belleville Type IA6 is powered by a 2.6-liter six-cylinder engine and is one of 185 built. Its Open Victoria coachwork was built by Brewster of New York. It has a 'cape top' and devoid of windows, side curtains, or doors. It was later located at Newport by George Waterman, who purchased it for his collection in Providence, Rhode Island, perhaps around the 1940s.
Burt Upjohn of Kalamazoo, Michigan, purchased the car in 1968 from Waterman. Jay and Berta Leon acquired the Delaunay-Belleville from Mr. Upjohn in 1975. It was then given a cosmetic restoration, including new paint and upholstery, mechanical repairs, and detailing.
