1973 Jaguar XKE E-Type Navigation
The third series of the Jaguar E-Type was introduced in 1971. Its greatest feature was its new twelve cylinder engine which greatly increased its power and torque over earlier straight-six E-Type models. Exterior changes included flared wheel arches to accommodate the new suspension and wider track, along with a cross-slated front grille. Bodystyles included the 2+2 coupe and the roadster, no longer offering the two-seater fixed head coupe. The roadster now rode on the longer wheelbase of the 2+2 which offered additional cabin room for the occupants.
This particular 1973 Jaguar is a two-owner, rust-free Arizona car that has been given a comprehensive, nut-and-bolt restoration. Over $200,000 was spent on the work. During the restoration, the colors were changed to the Jaguar livery of British Racing Green over tan. It has a black convertible top and a restored black factory hardtop. The interior features Smith's instrumentation, factory radio, and air conditioning. During its restoration, it received a close-ratio five-speed manual transmission.
