1990 Ruf BTR C4 Lightweight Coupe

This Porsche RUF BTR Carrera 4 Turbo began life as a Carrera 4 model. RUF in Pfaffenhausen, Germany initially tuned the car in 1991, bringing the horsepower to 385 hp. Between 1992 and 1993, about $225,000 was spent to further upgrade the car with a next-generation turbocharged 3.8-liter flat-six rated 425 hp. It was given a Sachs-supplied RUF electronic clutch system and RUF Type R6450 gearbox. The brakes and suspension were also upgraded.

This RUF has a widebody kit, whale tail, and low-profile racing mirrors. Inside is a 'concealed' roll cage, a pair of RUF-specification racing seats, lightweight glass, and simpler door cards. The rear wiper and all door electronics and insulation were removed, and the sunroof was also removed and replaced with a solid roof panel. There is an airbag-less three-spoke RUF steering wheel so it can be driven on a track. There is an ABS disconnect knob on the dash, and an AWD adjustable knob for the driver to change the four-wheel bias when in the rain or when racing.

Since the BTR conversion was completed, the car has been driven about 28,000 miles. It has recently received a $9,600 service.
