    1948 Austin Gasser Navigation
In 1965 after tasting defeat at the 1965 U.S. Nationals by an AA/GS race car, Jimy Oddy decided to switch classes and go AA/GS racing himself. He sourced a 1948 Austin A40 Dorset from nearby Buffalo, New York.

After gathering parts and pieces included a 392 Hemi from GOR-DEN Automotive, fiberglass from Anderson Automotive, a 6-71 Blower, an Art Carr transmission and custom chassis work, the Austin was debuted in 1967. It immediately became a winner by beating such stalwarts as Stone Woods & Cook and Big John Mazmanian.

By 1971 the Austins, Anglia's & Willys were on the wane, soon to be replaced by Opels, Mustangs and Cuda's. After changing hands over the past 40 years, the current owner purchased this Austin in 2019 and is honored to carry on the winning tradition of the Jim Oddy Austin.
