1963 Cadillac Series 62 DeVille 6300 Navigation
The Park Avenue, produced only in 1961 through 1963, was the rare short-rear-deck version of the DeVille sedan. Built in response to complaints that the ever-growing Cadillac of the late 1950s was having trouble fitting in space-constrained New York City parking garages, the Park Avenue was roughly a foot shorter in overall length than the standard Cadillac. Demand did not meet expectations; just 1,575 were built for the 1963 model year.
This particular Park Avenue is a total restoration of a one-owner, low-mileage barn find. The styling of 1963 was less 'jet-age' in appearance than the flamboyant 1961-62 models, with cleaner lines and lower tail fins. The front of the car had a more imposing look than before, with a clear resemblance to the Cadillacs of 1959/1960. Under the hood, a new 390 cubic-inch V8 - combined with the proven 4-speed Hydra-Matic transmission - delivered smooth, effortless power.
