Designer: Exner
A young and progressive designer named Virgil Exner was certainly ahead of his time. Known as the creator of 'The Forward Look' cars, he took a lineup of cars that were rather tall and stodgy and created the distinct low and sleek designs that are easily recognized even now. Some would consider his designs exaggerated, but there is certainly no mistaking what it is!

At the top of the line for the Chrysler Corporation was the Imperial. Considered a separate division, it would be totally unique, sharing no body or interior parts with other cars from Chrysler.

A mere 618 Imperial Crown convertibles were produced in 1960 with a base price of $5,774.00, making them exceptionally rare even when new. 1960 would mark the final year for the Imperial to out-sell the Lincoln. This prime example has been restored to its original as-delivered glory.
