2014 Cadillac ATS-V.R Navigation
When Cadillac launched the all new ATS model, they also introduced a new race car; the ATSV-R coupe. Designed to meet the International FIA GT3 specifications, it was developed to compete with the GT3 cars from Audi, Porsche, BMW, Aston-Martin and Ferrari.
The ATSV-R is powered by a twin turbocharged 3.6-liter V6 engine that produces over 600 horsepower with a rear mounted X-Trac 6-speed sequential transmission. This results in a nearly perfect 49/51 front/rear weight distribution and outstanding handling.
In spite of some issues, this car would go on to clinch the Driver and Manufactures Championships in its first season. In 2017, the team's final season, Michael Cooper and Jordan Taylor would win the Sprint X-Drivers Championship. In its final race at Sonoma Raceway, #8 won both races, ending the Cadillac World Challenge Program on a high note.
