1986 BMW E30 M3 Navigation
The E30-series, the first M3, was launched in 1986. It was a fabulous street car and an equally successful race car. Even World Championship rally car. The Evo (for Evolution) was three-sub-series to make good use of BMW's constant competition upgrade program - weight reduction, improved aerodynamics, power increases, even a capacity increase for the original 2.3-liter 4 inline motor to 2.5 liters. Homologated in Group A, these racers competed directly against the Mercedes-Benz 19E - both companies working the maxim of 'win on Sunday, sell on Monday' to the full.

This example was raced in the JTCC (Japanese Touring Car Championship) from 1986 through 1992, coming 2nd in the championship the last year. It also raced in Malaysia, Switzerland and Australia. Truly an international success story.
