1935 Packard 1204 Super Eight Roadster Coupe

By 1935, with America in the midst of the Depression, Packard offered four distinct model lines: the medium-priced 120 Series that provided much-needed cash flow, plus three senior series, the Packard Eight, the Packard Super Eight, and the Packard Twelve. The Eight and Super Eight differed in wheelbase and engine size but shared similar coachwork. The Super Eight had a 150 horsepower, L-head, straight-eight engine that was smooth running and almost as powerful as its 12-cylinder relative. The new streamlined Packards were all styled by Count Alexis de Saknoffsky and the open cars were bodied by the Murray Corporation of America - although they all have a Dietrich badge.

This car is one of 11 known to survive and just one of three with the rear-mounted spare wheel. Its current owner restored the Coupe Roadster personally and the car has won many prestigious awards.
