1936 Bugatti Type 57S Navigation
With its streamlined styling and low-slung chassis, the Bugatti Type 57S Atalante was designed by Jean Bugatti as a 2-seater sports coupe, soon becoming the rarest of the four body styles offered by the Bugatti factory. This Type 57S, the fifth Atalante produced and one of fifteen surviving, is known as the 'Casablanca' car. This car was ordered new by Miss Luci Vogt, the 25-year-old heiress to a potash mining fortune. Then, in 1957, it was purchased by Margaret Walker, an American stationed at the Consulate in Casablanca. She brought the car to the United States in 1960 and kept it for another ten years. Since then, the car has had two other long-term owners before its current owner acquired the car in 2011.
