1924 Bentley 3 Litre Bridges Saloon

This very original Bentley 3 Litre was built on a 10-foot, 10-inch wheelbase and fitted with a low compression engine and B Type gearbox. The car was first sold through Bridges Garage of Cirencester in Gloucestershire, a small coachbuilder and general garage that opened for business in 1919, the same year W.O. Bentley built his first 3 Litre engine.

The handsome, 4-door, 6-light coachwork is almost certainly by Bridges as it is identical to a Bridges-built body fitted to a Sunbeam from the same period. The windscreen and the seat runners were made by other firms in West Bromwich, not far from Cirencester, although the first owner was Mr. D. Bennet Biggam of Monkseaton, near Newcastle upon Tyne, on the other side of the country. Whatever its early history, this rare and original Bentley has never been restored, and its interior woodwork and leather are still in wonderful condition, displaying all of its 95 years of use.
