1999 Chevrolet Corvette C5 Coupe

This car was built by Pratt and Miller and was the first official factory-backed racing Corvette since 1956. Built in 1998, just before the 1999 24 Hours of Daytona, C5-R-001 saw immediate success scoring a 3rd place GT2 finishing wearing No. 2 black-and-silver GM Goodwrench livery. In the 1999 races, chassis 001's worst finish was fifth place at Road Atlanta. In the 2000 season, chassis 001 finished 2nd overall in the Daytona 24 Hours and for its final race, Corvette Racing and chassis 001 finally made it to Le Mans for the 24 Hours and placed 4th in LM GTS class. Today, C5-R-001 still sits in the 2000 Le Mans livery.

This is the lead car in developing the Corvette Racing Team as we know it today. With extensive history driven by Ron Fellows, Justin Bell, Chris Kneifel, John Paul Jr. and others in 1999-2000 season. This led Chevrolet to multiple manufacturer, team and driver championships.

It raced at the 24 Hours of Daytona, 12 Hours of Sebring and the 24 Hours of Le Mans and many other tracks in the ALMS Series.
