1999 Pontiac Firebird Navigation
The uninterrupted production of the Pontiac Firebird Trans Am began in 1969. The 30th anniversary, based on GM's fourth-generation, was revised for 1998 and built through 2002. The 30th Anniversary Special Edition Trans Am of 1999 had a normally V-8 power with its 320 horsepower, all-aluminum, 346 CID LS1 engine with Ram Air induction. Special Arctic White paint with blue stripes recalled the original Trans Am livery of 1969. Other features included a numbered identification plate, bold accents, white leather upholstery, and several other unique touches. Just 1,600 were produced in all, including 1,065 coupes.
This particular example was delivered new to Neil Norton Pontiac-Cadillac in Peoria, Illinois. It was number 1,079 of 1,600 examples produced. Factory options include the six-speed manual gearbox, electronic traction control, and custom bucket seats with adjustable lumbar supports.
