The Ferrari 250 GT with coachwork by Pinin Farina made its debut at the 1958 Paris motor show. Known as the Pinin Farina Coupe, 353 examples were built through 1960. This particular Coupe is a Series II variant equipped with Dunlop disc brakes, overdrive, and the outside-plug tipo 128F engine. It left the factory with luggage straps, chrome knock-off wire wheels, and a passenger seat headrest. The car was completed in the fall of 1960 and finished in Blu Sera paint and trimmed with contrasting white leather upholstery.
The car was delivered new in September of 1960 to owner Sergio Radici of Bergamo, Italy. In the mid-1960s, it was exported to the United States where it was acquired in 1965 by Richard Poppe of Seattle, who kept it for the next two decades. In 1984 it was sold to William Takas of New York City. It entered the care of John Bungay of Sacramento in 1987, who kept it until 1990 when it was sold to Stephen Barney of Summerfield, North Carolina. Four years later, it was sold to Paul Gilpatrick of Denver. The current owner purchased the car in 2003.
The car is currently in unrestored condition with its original matching-numbers engine and original white upholstery. The Tipo 128F SOHC V-12 engine displaces 2,953cc and is fitted with three Weber 40 DCL/6 carburetors. There is a four-speed manual gearbox with overdrive and four-wheel hydraulic Dunlop disc brakes.By Daniel Vaughan | Oct 2019
