1970 Dodge Coronet 440 Series Hardtop

Dodge's high-performance offering was the Super Bee. The exterior styling and design was unique to 1970, and this would be the final model season that the name was on the Coronet-shaped B-body.

This example is one of 599 examples with the V-Code Super Bee Hardtops produced with a 4-speed transmission in 1970. The V-code 440 Six Pack has a trio of Holley 2-barrel carburetors mounted on an Edelbrock aluminum intake under the oval air cleaner. Fresh air was fed to the engine through the special twin-scoop Ramcharger hood with an underhood scoop-to-carb seal. There is a Hurst Pistol Grip shifter for the A833 Chrysler 4-speed manual transmission with a 3.55-geared Sure Grip Dana rear end. Power brakes with front discs provided the stopping power.

This example is finished in High Impact Top Banana Yellow paint and white C-stripe and bee graphics on the rear quarter panels. The interior houses white bucket-seats with a performance dash with wood-grain trim, Tic-Toc-Tach, AM radio and 150 MPH speedometer.

There is a chromed-and-painted metal Super Bee emblem on the centered hood divider, and a full-size spare in the trunk. There are 5-spoke styled road wheels, with upgraded BF Goodrich radial tires.
