1965 Shelby Cobra 427 Navigation
This Shelby 427 Cobra Roadster was Bob Grossman's Foreign Car City in West Nyack, New York, on February 28, 1966. It was entered in the 12 Hours of Sebring, wearing number 6, and painted Silver Mink with red, white and blue stripes. It wore Halibrand wheels, had a black roll bar and black side exhaust. Grossman and El Lowther shared driving duties, and the car finished 10th overall and first in the class for Production Sports Cars over 5.0 liters.
After Sebring, Grossman raced the car at such Northeast tracks as Cumberland, Maryland; Bridgehampton, New York; Danville, Virginia; and Lime Rock, Connecticut. It set a new lap record at Watkins Glen, New York, where it crashed in the rain and was forced to retire.
Over the years, it has had several owners, and during its history it was temporarily mis-titled as 3106 before corrected. It was eventually acquired by Lynn Park, who hired Cobra expert Mike McCluskey of Torrance, California, to restore it at a cost of almost $22,000.
