    1942 Packard Super-8 One-Sixty Navigation
Due to the outbreak of World War Two, automobile production was halted in 1942. Approximately 2,580 Super Eight 160 series Packards were produced before the assembly lines shut down. The 1942 160 Super Eight series was powered by Packard's famous 356 cubic-inch inline eight that now developed 165 horsepower. The Super Eight 160 series model 2005 was built on a long 148-inch wheelbase chassis.

This vehicle is a 1942 Packard Super Eight 160 Model 2005. It is a 7-passenger touring sedan and one of only 7 known to exist today.

In 1942 Packard was changing from their traditional body lines to the new Clipper series design by Howard 'Dutch' Darrin. Due to increased defense production, Packard made plans to reduce the number of automobiles being offered in their 1942 line. The last car was completed on February 9, 1942.

During World War II, F.D.R. persuaded Packard to sell all their traditional body dies to Russia. This left only the Clipper series for post-war competition.

No auction information available for this vehicle at this time.
