1965 Citroen DS21 Navigation
This Citroën DS21 Concorde Coupe is one of approximately 35 examples built by Chapron, and it is one of just six from the second series. This example has the 'finned' rear wing treatment and is powered by a 2,175cc overhead-valve four-cylinder engine fitted with a single carburetor and delivering 100 horsepower. The engine is backed by a four-speed semi-automatic transmission and there is an independent Pneumatic suspension system.
It arrived at Chapron in October of 1965 and was assigned the commission number 7550. The work was completed and invoiced on December 10th of 1965. It was built for order for Monsieur Jean Lavail, Optional equipment included power windows, leather trim, optional Jaeger instrument cluster, Radiomatic FM radio with automatic Hirschmann antenna, Marchal fog lamps, and Robergel wire wheels. The color it wears are its original colors of Midnight Blue and Shell Gray livery.
This Citroen appears to have spent the majority of its life in France. It changed hands in 1985, coming into the ownership of a professional Citroen mechanic. At the time it was not in running condition. He gradually refurbished it, treating it to a light restoration in 2000. It is believed he rebuilt the engine during his ownership. For the next 33 years, the owner used it regularly on the road.
More recently, the car has received a cosmetic freshening of the restoration.By Daniel Vaughan | Nov 2019
